The schedule for the 5th day at The International 2018 was as follows:

TI8 Main Event Day 5 Highlights

So let us have a look at the matches that took place on Day 5 of the event and how 2 teams bit the dust on their road to the aegis.

Team Secret vs. Team Liquid

The day started off with the lower bracket matchup between Team Secret and Team Liquid. After the defending champions lost to PSG.LGD in the upper bracket, they fell down to face Team Secret. And despite what many thought would be a tough match, Team Liquid outrun Secret with a clear 2-0 victory. The overall draft, was far superior on Liquid’s side with their execution also being close to perfect. Team Secret tried all in their power but could not stand against the might.

PSG.LGD vs.OG

Next up was the upper bracket match of PSG.LGD and OG. While many thought this would be a one sided game for LGD, OG had other plans in mind. After a close 1-1 series, OG took the match to the final game. The team was on the brink of losing but a quick turn around in the later stages of the game saw them take the series and move on to the grand finals.

Team Liquid vs. Evil Geniuses

After the take down of Team Secret, Liquid now had to face EG. Evil Geniuses seems to be on fire however as they played some really good Dota to stay alive in the event and defeat the defending champions in a 2-0 fashion. With this they move on to the lower bracket final where they will now face PSG.LGD to decide who is going to the Grand Finals.

With this only three teams remain at the event. OG is comfortably waiting for their opponents in the Grand Finals while EG and PSG.LGD will fight in the lower bracket to earn a shot against OG.Stay tuned for more from The International 2018 as it cannot get any better than this.
