PUBG Issues and How to Fix Them
Ever since the release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), the ground-breaking battle royale has been titled as one of the most notorious games of the year. Now, if you have played the game, you would already know the reason behind this. But for those who don’t, let us clarify. The game is overflowing with different PUBG issues which have ruined the overall playing experience for everyone.
The unprecedented issues have led to an increase in the number of complaints which has resulted in over one-third of the game’s total player base to deteriorate. That being said, we believe PUBG still has the potential to get better. And since the developers are hard at work, trying to fix all of the PUBG issues, the game has a bright future.
However, while we wait for those PUBG issues to be fixed from the developers’ end, we have comprised a list of possible workarounds which might help players who are coming across the various PUBG issues.
PUBG Rendering Issues
When the game was first released, the community was filled with hundreds of thousands of reports regarding many PUBG rendering issues within the game. Though with time, some of the issues have been dealt with by the developers, some of them still remain.
Now, for a game like PUBG which requires quick movement, PUBG loading issues can be quite frustrating as these restrict players from entering buildings and houses. Consequently, the players die as soon as they drop off from the plane.
So, how can one get rid of these PUBG issues, you might ask? Well, the solution to the problem is quite simple. This PUBG issue arises when your PC is unable to match the requirements of the game. In other words, the data the game needs to load is too heavy for the PC which is why it takes additional time. And since the game is online, time cannot be stopped. Hence, you see pixelated houses and buildings.
For added ease, here are the recommended PC requirements for playing the game without any rendering issues.
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5-1600 / Intel Core i5-7600K
- RAM: 16 GB RAM
- GPU: NVidia GTX 1060 6GB or better
- DirectX: Version 11
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- HDD: 30 GB available space game
To fix this, you can either lower down your graphics settings or upgrade your PC’s hardware for a more permanent fix. How since the latter requires more time and money, we would suggest you try changing the game’s graphic options. We would advise you to test out the different settings available and see which ones work the best for you. however, if you wish to get the most performance and do not care about the how good the game looks, then we would recommend you to follow the settings below:
- Screen Mode: Fullscreen
- Quality: Custom
- Screen Scale: 100
- Anti-Aliasing: Very Low
- Post-Processing: Very Low
- Shadows: Very Low
- Texture: Medium
- Effects: Very Low
- Foliage: Very Low
- View Distance: Ultra
- Motion Blur: Disabled
- V-Sync: Disabled
- Inventory Character Render: Off
You can also try optimizing your PC for performance which might give you a slight boost within the game. To do this, just follow the steps below and keep in mind that these are easily revertable, hence, you can always go back to the default settings whenever you feel like.
- Go to your desktop and right-click on This PC and select Properties.
- Click Advanced System Settings on the left column.
- Click the Advanced Tab near the top of this window. Then, under Performance, click the Settings button. This will bring up the Performance Options window.
- Once there, select “Adjust for best performance” and click Apply
This reduces the load of your Operating System on your PC by limiting the number of visual effects. Hence, increasing performance for both your PC and PUBG.
PUBG Framerate Issues
Like the above-mentioned issue, Frame rates or fps drops have also been frustrating players since the initial days of the game. This has led to an entire horde of complaints, all stating that the game is poorly optimized, resulting in numerous PUBG Frame rate issues.
We understand the developers have been doing their bit with optimization updates, but they have a long way to go. So, while that happens, we advise players who are experiencing PUBG issues linking to fps drops, to lower their graphic settings, resolution and if this does not work, then the last resort is to upgrade your PC with the latest hardware. You can also try the following workarounds which could help you get better performance in the game.
- Close unused/background applications
- Disable Game DVR
- Repair your PC’s registry
- Update display and other drivers
- Set “High priority” to the game in Task Manager.
- Set Power settings to “Maximum Performance”
For Nvidia users, you can go a bit more performance by messing around in the Control Panel. But be sure that your drivers are completely updated to date before you get onto following the steps below:
- Click the arrow in the bottom right of your desktop tray to bring up an icon menu. Right-click the Nvidia logo (green and black) and select “NVIDIA Control Panel”.
- Select “Manage 3D Settings” followed by “Program Settings” and find “PUBG” or “TslGame” in the drop-down menu. If you can’t find them, click “Add” and you should find them there.
- Once there, change the following settings:
- Set “Maximum pre-rendered frames” to 1.
- Set “Monitor Technology” to “G-SYNC” if applicable. Otherwise, leave it be.
- Set “Power management mode” to “Prefer maximum performance”.
- Set “Preferred refresh rate” to “Highest Available”.
- Set “Threaded Optimisation” to “On”.
- Set “Vertical Sync” to “Use the 3D application setting”.
But be sure that the issue you are experiencing is actually fps drops as the symptoms of PUBG lag are quite similar. If you think the latter is the problem, then navigate to our PUBG lag guide for more details on how you can fix those underlying PUBG issues.

However, what people don’t understand is the fact that these issues can also be surfacing from the player’s end.
