While, popular game developer Riot Games also took some initiatives to reduce lag for League of Legends players in the past, this time around Blizzard was kind enough to care about its loyal fans frustrated from Diablo 3 lag.

Seems like Blizzard is Kill Ping’s new alliance in the battle with lag and for Diablo 3 Users this is nothing but good news. Here are just some responses from the Diablo 3 community who have been complaining about lag:

Blizzard’s Effort for Diablo 3 Lag Spikes

Blizzard understood the overwhelming responses regarding server lag and high ping issues on Diablo 3 servers and this is why they planned to execute a strategy to test their new technology or rather a way to put an end to the lag story. However, to have this implementation take place they expected their users to step into the Diablo world and help overpopulate so that they can assess and resolve Diablo 3 fps lag issues.

Blizzard also listed down ways to participate in the event and what was required of the players. Most of all there were special spells that were listed down for spamming to collect data that would help stabilize server. All this was expected to be done over the course of 6-9 October 2015.

Blizzard added also up the following for launching Server Slam:

“We’ve been monitoring server performance and identified some opportunities for improvements. Our engineers have come up with some potential solutions that should smooth out gameplay in calculation-heavy environments. Some of these solutions are not the kind we want to deploy immediately to live servers via hotfix as they come with their fair share of risks—so we need your help!”

It has been quite some time since this happened the problem still remains the same. Blizzard isn’t completely at fault in this considering there are millions of players who are facing lag.

We have created a specification list that we recommend you should meet so that your Diablo 3 fps lag isn’t due to your tin-pc.

  • Processor: Intel Core i3-5600K
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM

Diablo 3 Server Lag

If you are constantly facing lag then maybe it’s because of a poor network connection. This is why we recommended you to have at least a 4MB connection when you are playing the game. Next thing to keep in mind if you are playing on a WiFi router is to make sure if someone else is also using the internet connection. If this is the case you will be left with very little bandwidth to properly play the game and hence you might face Diablo 3 lag.

A quick and simple workaround to this is to switch yourself to a wired connection so that you know a lot the bandwidth is being used only by you. If you can’t do this then the least you can do is limit bandwidth for others on your router. This way you can limit others to the amount of bandwidth that you are using so that there’s more left for you to play the game.
