Fortnite News: Major Nerfs to Shotguns, Jetpacks and More

A couple of days back, Epic Games came out with the highly anticipated Bouncer Trap for Fortnite Battle Royale, along with a few more changes to the game’s Save the World variant. However, today, the developers are back with a few more changes, balancing some of the most popular features in the game.

According to the official blog post, the developers are introducing some major fixes and balances to the Fortnite Battle Royale. The developers believe there were a few strategies in the game which become too dominant, giving rise to quite a lot of backlash. So, to put an end to those, Epic Games has nerfed both shotguns and jetpacks. Hopefully, this will balance off the Double Pump exploit.

To learn more about these all-new changes, check out the official patch notes below:

Shotguns

“For a while, we felt that Shotguns promoted healthy close quarter gameplay, however with the recent equip time changes, Shotguns are being used more often than we like. It’s something we’ve been keeping an eye on, but broadly speaking we feel Shotguns are a little too strong in their current state. As a result, we’re making these adjustments”

Pump Shotgun

  • Headshot multiplier reduced from 2.5 to 2.0
  • Damage reduced from 90/95 to 80/85

Tactical Shotgun

  • Headshot multiplier reduced from 2.5 to 2.0

Traps

“We made a large change to traps a few weeks ago to test decreasing damage from 125 to 75. This was done in an effort to better understand the impact traps have throughout a match. The change sparked a great deal of excellent discussion about traps and we are going to lean more into improving their effectiveness. We want this to add more ways for you to be potent in combat.”

  • Trap Damage increased from 75 to 150

Jetpack

The Jetpacks are going to be moving to the Fortnite Vault at 8 am on Monday, June 11. So, play around with the Jetpack all you want this week as starting Monday, the newest addition to the game will be removed.

Hopefully, these changes are going to balance the game further and put an end to the current double pump meta which everyone is exploiting. That is it for now, but stay tuned as we will be bringing you more news regarding Fortnite soon. Till then, comment below and let us know what out think of the all-new changes, are you pleased with the new additions?
