Dust 2 Being Brought Back to DreamHack After Qualifiers
DreamHack organizers have revealed that Dust 2 will be on hold until the Summer Qualifiers are over. Instead, Cobblestone will remain part of the action as long as it is there in the map pool.
As per the announcement, the qualification cycle for the DreamHack Open Summer will remain the same which means Cobblestone will be played as normal. The qualifiers are all set to start from Saturday so it seems like a good move considering Dust 2’s immediate addition would cost a lot of teams a lot of their strategies.
However, this is only for the current summer qualifiers, and moving on all DreamHack qualifiers and LAN event will include Dust 2 instead of Cobblestone. If you were excited about Dust 2, then you will have to wait until the DreamHack Open Valencia qualifiers. The DreamHack Open Tours start from May 19th.
Due to recent map pool changes from Valve the maps used for the Valencia and Summer Qualifiers will differ:
DreamHack Open Summer Qualifier Map: Cobblestone
DreamHack Open Valencia Qualifier Map: Dust II

This move is in line with ESL who recently announced Dust2 would be used for IEM Sydney and ESL Pro League Finals alongside ESEA who will have Dust 2 for the upcoming MDL Global LAN Challenge.
