Dota 2 Patch 7.14 is Out: Nerfs to Favorite Meta Heroes
The hero that we hate to love is finally getting the much-needed attention that he deserved. The biggest revelation of Dota 2 Patch 7.14 relates to the addition of Techies to Captain’s mode which now means that the hero would be in the hands of their masters likes JeraX, Aui_2000, Kuroky and LiL.
Can't ban all my heroes now, hahaa pic.twitter.com/bmUdylVtm2

There have been some major changes to a lot of heroes as well. And if that was not enough, Iceforg was unkind enough to change a few recipes as well.
If you are playing Dota 2 after some time, then I strongly recommend you to check all the changes to the new recipes and changes to items will also change how they are being built on heroes. For example, Skull Basher has received a change where it no longer pierces evasion in the Bash proc and is not made out of Mithril Hammer instead of Javelin. So if you have been used to buying Javelin to convert it into Basher in the later stages, then you are mistaken.
Similarly, Monkey King Bar now requires Demon Edge, Quarterstaff, and Javelin. The proc damage has not changed from 60 to 100, but the damage is now magical. These are just a few things that have been changed in the game. Now let’s talk a bit about the hero changes.
The biggest hero change and probably a buff came in the form of Windranger whose patch changes are as follows:
* Windranger: Powershot damage increased from 180/260/340/420 to 180/270/360/450
* Windranger: Focus Fire attack speed increased from 350 to 400
* Windranger: Focus Fire now always fires on the target unless you are attacking another target, or pressed stop and are not moving.
Also, thanks Mr frog for windrunner buffs. pic.twitter.com/CaaPanZUvX

The damage increase, attack speed increase and a slight change to focus fire has substantially changed the way the hero will be played in future. From the transition of being a support hero to a core to being completely neglected, these changes will bring Windranger once again back into the Meta and to the place where she is heavily contested for the mid role.
The Meta favorite heroes like Tusk, Terrorblade, Outworld Devourer and Shadow Fiend have received a few nerfs as well which will most likely change the way they are drafted in professional matches and the Meta.
The good thing, however, is a nerf to the pain in the ass hero, Pangolier. The hero has received changes that will overall lessen the damage output and problems that he created in the past. The hero now has increased manacosts, and cooldowns plus his talents have also been made slightly weaker. While this won’t change much in the below 4K MMR pool as not many people try new things, the hero has been a huge hit in upper ranks, and this will surely balance his power.
Overall, however, the updates have not been received positively in the Dota 2 community with special mention to pro players who think these constant changes to the game will hit back in a huge way. Sumail was greatly concerned by this as seen in his tweet.
Why do valve/icefrog feel the need of changing the game every 2 weeks it's absurd how big the changes are they were supposed to be minor, do consider there are at least 2 million dollars tourneys every month. No other sports do it and their games stay just as alive. #nomodehipstr

Tell us what you think of the updates and if your favorite hero has also received a few nerfs here and there in the Dota 2 Patch 7.14
