CSGO News: G2 Bench Bodyy, Add AmaNEk to Active Roster

After a series of lackluster performances by G2, the organization has decided to bench their long term member Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro who will be replaced by former LDLC star, François “AmaNEk” Delaunay.

G2 were unable to perform as expected seeing their recent finishes at IEM Katowice 2019 and WESG World Finals. G2 ended their run at the event achieving the New Challenger status 12th- 14th but that is definitely not what they had in mind.

Although the team lost to Na`Vi, MIBR and ENCE in the process, fans and the team itself expected a deeper run into the event.

The addition of AmaNEk marks the departure of body who has been part of g2 for almost 3 years. During his time, body played a vital role in the team’s success at various events which include ECS Season 1, ESL Pro League Season 5 and most importantly DreamHack Masters Malmo.

2018 however, had been the worst year for bodyy and that is probably the main reason why the team considered benching him. This is something that the team’s coach Damien “maLeK”Marcel also mentioned in the official statement.

“Alex has contributed greatly to our recent development, engaging fully with the team and by making significant progress. That said, we still feel that greater changes are needed and as a result, have decided to move Alex to our bench. This has been done in good spirits and following discussions with the team and we will be actively looking for a new home for Alex with his full support.”

Now talking about the replacement François “AmaNEk” Delaunay, Francois has been part of LDLC till the end of 2018 where he maintained a 1.23 rating on LAN while helping his team to finishes at PMU Challenge 2018 and ESL Pro European Championship. AmaNEk’s first appearance with G2 would be at Charleroi Esports set to take place between April 12-14.

G2 Esports new roster is now as follows:

• Richard “shox” Papillon
• Kenny “kennyS” Schrub
• Lucas “Lucky” Chastang
• Audric “JaCkz” Jug
• François “AmaNEk” Delaunay
• Damien “maLeK” Marcel (Coach)
