Find the settings which fit your gameplay

If there is one thing you need to learn, it is that there are no “correct” settings for playing CS:GO. Instead, you will need to find out the settings that are personalized for your requirements and your computer’s hardware. The only thing that actually matters is that you need to make sure that you have a frame rate of at least 64 frames which is the tick rate at which the servers for the game run at.

Lower The Sensitivity of your mouse

This may sound very weird to some of you but it is actually a fact that in most cases, you are playing on a mouse sensitivity setting that is higher than is required. Most seasoned players of the game play with a 400DPI mouse along with their in-game sensitivity set to 2.0. While this does not mean that you have to copy these settings exactly as they are, it is highly recommended that you set your sensitivity around this. It is going to feel weird at first but it is going to help you greatly in the long run.

Learn The Callouts and Stick to them

One of the most important traits of a good player in CS:GO is to learn the callouts for different maps in the game and then stick to them. Listen to your team and pro streams on how different callouts are done and learn them in a timely manner. This is very important if you want to achieve swift communication with your team and while it may take you some time to learn all of these callouts, they will certainly make you a better player.

Be Patient

CS:GO is a game of patience. It is extremely important to be patient and wait for an impatient player on the enemy side. This is especially true if you are on the CT side because they have to hold down bomb sites and not let the Terrorist side plant the bomb. Because of this, you have to learn to be patient and do not go off hunting for the enemy side.

Learn how the economy works

This is probably one of the things that make CS:GO the most interesting. You need to understand how money in the game works. You will get some money at the end of each round with the winning team getting more than the loosing team. You need to make sure that every player in your team is appropriately equipped at the start of each round and only buy when everyone has enough money to buy all of the required items. Seriously, do not be the guy who buys during a round when everyone else is saving.

Practice makes perfect

Last but certainly not the least, keep practicing to learn the gunplay and the mechanics of the game. As stated earlier in this article, the game is different from your run of the mill first person shooter and because of this, has very different mechanics. The best way to do this would be to play the deathmatch mode. This helps you learn how the gunplay works and since it does not have the team objectives or callouts, this is a great way to help you learn the game.
